  Back to News

HMC was honoured to present to over 40 Islamic scholars who are based within the Cardiff area. The purpose of the seminar was to give the attendees an insight into the inner workings of the Halal sector as well as to reiterate their responsibilities as community leaders to ensure that they educate the wider community about the importance of consuming Halal food.

Shaykh Yunus Dudhwala Chair of HMC said:

“it was a great opportunity for HMC to present to scholars who are based within the cardiff area and we hope that we can continually benefit the community at large by educating them on this important topic of Halal consumption”

Many of the scholars were alarmed by the realities within the Halal sector and felt that there was a massive disparity between the Islamic jurisprudence and the realities on the ground. Molana Ridwan who is a prominent scholar in Cardiff said:

“ As a Muslim community leader it is our duty to ensure that we provide the best level of advice and care in accordance to the teachings within the Quran and the sayings of the prophet peace be upon him. We understand that what we consume has a direct impact on our lives inclusive of our spirituality and therefore I am grateful that there is an organisation like the HMC Who instil confidence in what we eat.”

HMC looks forward once again to connecting with the leaders of Cardiff and surrounding areas so that we can collectively benefit the community of large and ensure that they consume a genuine Halal choice.
