HMC Suspends all Supplies of Zaman Brothers Wholesale Halal Meat Ltd Cutting Plant, Bradford
HMC has suspended all supplies from Zaman Brothers Wholesale, Bradford, with immediate effect following the discovery of fake labels on its products. HMC has sent a national alert to all its monitors and inspectors to reject all Products from Zaman Brothers Wholesale with immediate effect.
Over the weekend, HMC discovered ‘Fake HMC Labels’ on Zaman Brothers Wholesale Products entering the HMC processing plant in Blackburn which it seized. The supplies were blocked and held by inspectors while investigations took place over the weekend.
Although the labels were copied, HMC uses randomised and unique serial numbers, special markings and other coding systems that uniquely identify these to HMC staff who conduct daily inspections.
Nadeem Adam, Operations Manager at HMC says; “HMC does not only have a unique labelling system, but is also followed up by daily monitoring. If the Halal logo is misused, HMC will vigorously defend Halal under the label of HMC”. The matter has now been passed to our Legal team at Bond Adams and also to Trading Standards to deal with legally.
Zaman Brothers Wholesale cutting plant would not comment on how these fake labels came into being.
