The Parliament on Wednesday April 3rd (between 4p.m. and 4.30p.m.) will debate at Westminster Hall about non-stun slaughter which mainly affects the Muslim and Jewish communities here in the UK.

Please can you encourage your local MP to attend and defend our right to perform slaughter according to our religious rites.
Parliament is also reviewing the labelling of Halal and Kosher meat. However for the purpose of transparency, we urge the parliament to go a step further and label products as to the exact stun method that was used i.e. gassing/mechanical slaughter/water bath stunning etc.
HMC certified products are clearly labelled and identifiable as being Halal and comes with independent traceability as well as chain of custody for each product.
Let’s not become a Belgium/Denmark/Sweden where non-stun Halal is no longer available and support the Halal cause for the generations to come.

2. Speak in defence of religious freedoms, especially for two most vulnerable communities in the UK namely Muslim and Jewish
3. If labelling is to be brought in, it should be more than just ‘stunned’ and ‘non-stunned’, if we really want consumers to be informed. The method of stunning should be labelled if labelling is to be brought in.
