Some outlets are misleading the public

  Back to News

During recent months HMC has been alerted and made aware on at least 3 or 4 occasions that there are outlets in various cities and towns up and down the country who are misleading the public into believing they are HMC certified. The method most commonly used is in the form of flyers and menus displaying the name and/or logo of HMC and being distributed throughout local Muslim communities.

HMC was originally set up to help to try and combat and eradicate the cheating and corruption within the ‘halal’ meat & poultry industry. This cheating and corruption continues and now people are using the name of HMC in their misleading of the public’s trust.

We are asking you, the public, to be on guard against this and help us to help you by reporting any incidents to the office and also by sending any offending material to us so that we can take legal advice and action if necessary. The HMC logo is a registered certification mark (2344757) and all rights are reserved. It may not be reproduced or transmitted in any form or by any means, electronic or mechanical, including photocopying, recording, or by any information storage and retrieval system without prior written permission.

Please keep a constant check on our website for an up to date listing of all certified outlets. This list is updated regularly and usually within the hour when a new outlet is added or if a certificate is revoked for any reason. If you don’t have internet access then please call the office for an update of all your local area’s outlets.

Jazakallah Khayran
